Furniture Suited for Out of Town Guests

While the holidays are an exciting time, it can bring a lot of responsibility. Between shopping for the perfect gifts, wrapping them, cooking feasts, and holidays parties- you don’t have time to stress about where out of town guests are sleeping.

A common concern I hear when talking to clients is that they don’t have any extra space to create a designated guest area/room. A variety of companies have created lines of modern day murphy beds, sleeper sofas, and day beds so you don’t need to spend a half hour trying to get a fitted sheet over a semi inflated air mattress.

I've listed some of my favorite pieces below:

For a simplified, natural look:

I love the Boho Natural Daybed Frame from CB2. The natural color of this frame makes if easy to add to a room with its color scheme already chosen and the handwoven rattan panels add a nice touch of detail to the piece as well.

For a sleeper sofa with performance fabric:

Performance fabric is a perfect option for anybody, especially clients with children. The Marin Sleeper Sofa from West Elm is an incredible option, especially with West Elms white glove delivery option. This sleeper sofa is offered in a variety of performance fabrics- Linen, Twill, Basketweave, and Velvet.

For a murphy bed:

The Dinah Murphy Bed from Wayfair is the perfect option if you're extremely limited on space. I love that this murphy bed has shelving on both sides and comes in a variety of neutral colors.

For a sectional:

The Harris Sleeper Sectional with Storage Chaise by West Elm is one of the finest pieces the company offers. I love how you can configure this piece to fit your space and how there's a storage chaise for you to store the linens for the mattress. They offer this piece in a variety of fabrics as well, some of those being performance fabrics. With hand built frames and hand finished upholstery, the quality of this sectional is unmatched.
