Shop small! This weeks “Six Picks” focuses on small businesses and the amazing products they carry. The companies featured offer products ranging from handcrafted wooden furniture to unique candles. As a small business owner myself I know how much work it takes behind the scenes to run a small business so I am so excited to share these with you!
There may have been a time when wallpaper was considered “outdated” but that time is over and isn’t coming back. I love using wall coverings to express a clients unique personality and to add some character to a space. The first wall covering I ever saw from female owned company The Pattern Collective is “Eden, Night” and it caused me to go into a deep dive on their website, I highly suggest you do the same. Their wallpaper ranges from whimsical to botanical and everything in between.
If you’re ever near Provincetown, MA you must stop by the Julie Tremblay gallery, my fiancé and I have her work all over our house. Her photography brings a calming and serene element to any home. Her photography ranges from landscapes to sea scapes to still-life.
Solette (formerly Fiorella Soapery) is a female owned soapery. They are currently rebranding so I suggest following their Instagram account @solettebeauty so you can stay up to date about their launch (soon!) The products have a floral, maximalist feel perfect for a feminine style bathroom. Solette is also eco-friendly (the jars are made with recycled ocean plastic), vegan, and cruelty free so you can feel good using it on your skin (and buying it!)
Bay State Coasters is a Cape Cod based company specializing in wood and slate coasters that feature 4,000 footers, nautical charts, and a variety of other things. Bay Slate can also customize coasters for you which makes them an excellent housewarming gift because you can personalize them with a landmark or map of a location.
Don’t you love a good candle? I love to light a candle with a welcoming scent when we’re having guests over. Rewined candles have a variety of these welcoming scents- from “Poinsettia” to “Spiked Cider”. They also sell chic candle accessories to complete the look.
The Joinery is a company that handcrafts beautiful wooden furniture that will last you decades. There is truly something to be said about handcrafted wooden furniture, when you buy a piece made by hand it is better quality and more durable than it being made in a factory. The Joinery carries pieces for your bedroom, dining room, living room, office and more. One of my favorite pieces by them is the Live Edge Bed. I love how it shows the woods knots and how the headboard and footboard shows the natural edge of the tree.
